I was reading the sometimes lengthy wish lists gamers have for 2012 releases, and I wondered, who has time to play all these?

I know that a fair segment of gamers are collectors as well as (or in some cases in lieu of) players, but I'm still curious how many roleplaying games actually get played.

So, how many different tabletop roleplaying games did you play this year? This includes games played face-to-face, play-by-post, play-by-email, chat, and Skype/Google+/Ventrilo/et al.

For my part, I played four different games this year: my Flashing Blades campaign, OD&D at a game day, and Boot Hill and 1e AD&D at a con, all face-to-face.

I'll list them here as I remember, and then vote.

Eclipse Phase
Castles and Crusades
Aces and Eights
Chthulhu Tech
Cthonian Stars
Call of Chthulhu
Swords and Wizardry
Starblazer Adventures
Hackmaster Basic
Dragon Age
Legends of the 5 Rings

Probably a couple of more short or "one shot" game sessions.

The above are games I ran/played with my regular groups, the following are convention only games...

Mouse Guard
Fantasy Craft
Legends of Anglerre
Warhammer 3E
Game of Thrones
Imperium Chronicles.

Creative Mountain Games
Original Dungeons & Dragons
1E Dungeons & Dragons
Labyrinth Lord
Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG
3.5E Dungeons & Dragons
Pathfinder RPG
4E Dungeons & Dragons
Griffins & Grottos
Prince Valiant: The Storytelling Game
Burning Empires
Gamma World (Original)
Gamma World (New Edition)

Slow year since I had a Master's Thesis to complete and missed a couple of conventions I normally attend.

For me it was:

Savage Worlds
B(ECMI) D&D at a Con
nWoD (without any add-on books, Zombie Apocalypse game)
Vampire: the Requiem (with some Werewolf mixed in)

Pathfinder is my regular game. Did play in a Call of Cthulhu game and d20 Star Wars game this summer as well. One-shot for Cthulhu and a mini-campaign arc for the Star Wars game. Would have been able to play in another game or two, but my schedule didn't work out.

I crit!
all face to face

D&D 4e
D&D 3.5
Mongoose Traveller
Gammaword 1e
Metamorphosis Alpha 1e
Legend of the 5 rings
A sci fi post apoc home brew of Dragon Age
Spirit of the Century
Hollow Earth Expedition
Dungeon Crawl Classics beta test
Stars Without Number
Black Crusade
Against the Darkness

A lot of these I played at conventions but many of them were short campaigns with some on hiatus. In the main I've mostly played Pathfinder (my kids campaign) and Traveller (a friends and my shared campaign) and lately Deathwatch (my campaign).

One: 3.5e (World of Greyhawk, Underwater, Chock Full o' Hags... )

Mind you, I've been DMing 3.5e exclusively since it was introduced, and 3e exclusively before that. So, since 2000 I have in essence only DMed 3.x.

As for being on the player's end of the DM's screen, it's been over twenty years since I role-played a PC, and that was in a 1e campaign.

I voted 6-10, but I forgot a couple until I started posting the actual games. Granted, a few of these didn't last terribly long, and most of them were via PBEM or PBP, but I did spend hours of my time creating characters and playing for at least a few weeks.

3.5 D&D
4E D&D
Dresden Files
Mutants and Masterminds 3E
Primetime Adventures
Apocalypse World
Babylon 5
A home-brew DUNGEON!-like game I'm still hacking at to play with my daughters

1 D&D 4E game.
3 D&D 3.5E games, give two of those were the same game, but we had to start over due to new players.

Only playing in one game at the moment, but eager for the 4E game to start again.

2.5 D&D 3.5E games (One of which was my first time DMing. A month after I played D&D for the first time. *FACE PALM*)
3 D&D 4E games.

So 9 total. Even though most these games didn't last long.

I played more this year than in most years past...
DnD 3.5 face to face
Dnd 4e online
Call of Cthulhu online
and I can't remember if we played Gamma World 4e this year or at the end of last year...

Level Up!
