I think everyone you've had this discussion with understands by now. We all have times when we don't get what we want. After a while it's just complaining to complain.

Then maybe they should stop acting like its an incomprehensible mystery, which I've seen people do in this very thread. Either than suggests they don't understand it, or they're overusing hyperbole.

Its one thing to say "I don't think people should be fighting this fight"; its another to say "I don't get why people are fighting this fight". The latter, as I said, seems to be oblivious to common elements of human nature (wheras the former just says you don't like those elements, which is entirely someone's right).

I've never said it was a mystery other than I thought maybe had some point other than complaining for the sake of complaining.

I suspect in practice its tilting at windmills, but that's true of a lot of fights for mindspace, and people do that all the time in all kinds of ways in all kinds of contexts. At least in this case there's a theoretical reason for it, even if its almost certainly an impossible fight.

And note my posts on this subject were not initially directed at you; I responded to your responses to me directed at others.
