Illusions and Detect Magic

I use this house rule, when dealing with illusions and detect magic.

When you detect an illusion spell via detect magic, it counts as interacting with the illusion, therefore you are granted a saving throw. If you do not succeed, you'll get a false reading (school will be different... appropriate to the effect of the illusion, usually conjuration, evocation or transmutation).

Have to agree. Though what if you happen to be in an illusory house, but want to detect magic on the ring you just found? Especially since houses do not tend to magical...

It serves as a reasonable clue something strange is going on with the house without out and out telling you its an Illusion, it could be a ward instead.
