A plea to any British gamers familiar with London. I am here for a two-week holiday to visit my girlfriend, and for a few days while she is at work, I'd like to visit an awesome game shop!

I'm spending most of my time in Central London, although my hotel is by the Crystal Palace station in Croyden (??).

Any suggestions would be great!

Playin' Games by the front of the British Museum is cool, and friendlier than Orc's Nest - be sure to check out the basement! If you can get to Finchley North London, Leisure Games have a huge stock.

And there is a Warhammer store out in Richmond that has mucho mini goodness. :)
I presume you mean Games Workshop - they actually have a lot of stores in London including Oxford Street in the Plaza 'mall'.

I prefer Playin' Games and Leisure Games out of the general games stores.

Orc's Nest and Playin' Games are a 10 minute walking distance apart. Between them there's Forbidden Planet. They have an RPG section in the basement.

The Games Workshop on Oxford Street is a short bus ride or a 15 min walk from Playin' Games. So you can do Orc's Nest -> Forbidden Planet -> Playin' Games -> Games Workshop all within a short period of time.

Wow, you guys are great . . . and fast!

I've made a note of these places and we'll see if I can fit one or two in while I'm here!

Thanks!

I'll also voice Orc's Nest as being pretty cool. I picked up a T-shirt of theirs last time I was in London.

It's not exactly gaming related, but might I suggest the Wallace Collection near the Baker St. Tube station. It's a collection of medieval weaponry (both European and not) and fine art that's really neat.
