I totally agree! It's definitely about time!

Rumors of an upcoming Indy IV surfaced as early as 1994 and really picked up steam in 2002 when the official "we're working on it" confirmation from George Lucas was coupled with the announcement for the then-upcoming Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb game (which eventually hit stores in March 2003).

Seriously. Do we really want to see Harrison Ford, in all of his 65+ year-old decrepitude, leaping around Indy style? I'd much prefer a "Young Indiana Jones" style movie.

I do. I doubt I'd even bother to rent the "Young Indiana Jones" style movie, while I'll see the Ford movie in the theater on opening day.

I hope the character has aged as the actor has, which would place Indy in the 1960s.

Actually from what I heard it is set some time in the 1950's so the character will be around 15 years older than when we last saw him.

I'd love to see a film based upon the lucasarts game "Indiana Jones and the fate of atlantis" - that has to be one of my all-time favourite games and with a storyline that felt like I was in a flim

Wellll.... If you remember correctly, in the third film, he did drink from the grail. And while it doesn't grant immortality outside of that temple thingie, it does help preserve the inhiber (the extreme old age bit got me when they were talking of Joseph of Aramethia) . So him looking a bit younger than his real, apparent age isn't too far out of the question.
