Soda. Pop and Soda Pop are recognized synonyms but not in common usage in my area.

Soft drinks is a larger umbrella term encompassing all non-alcoholic beverages on a menu, including such offerings as tea, coffee, iced tea, lemonade, fruit juices, and milk.

So confusing. "Ill have a coke." "which kind? Sprite, Pepsi, Orange, Grape?" Especially, since these days they have actual orange and vanilla coke flavors.

I remember this being a thing growing up, but I feel like it has fallen off. If I go to a restaurant now and order a coke.. they'd give me a coca cola.
