Shadowdark Is there a Shadowdark SRD or similar?

I have the Free Shadowdark Quickstart and more than a dozen Shadowdark modules and settings and stuff from the Arcane Library and I am a little bit interested about some of the fuller Shadowdark core rules which are not on drivethru, like some of the monsters referenced in modules that are not in the quickstart. But I am not in or likely to be in a full Shadowdark game any time soon and I am not start a new account and pay $30 for the PDF interested right now.

Is there a more full Shadowdark SRD or similar document for checking things out like more of their standard monsters beyond the quickstart or does one need to get the full core rules for that?

No. Shadowdark does not have a SRD, and it's license is much more limited than most with regards to reprinting things.

That said, you do have the full rules in the quickstart. The full book gives you more and higher level spells, more monsters, more magic items and a massive number of random encounter tables. If you're missing any rules, they're for real edge case things.

It's also super-easy to make stuff for, so if you wanted to use the quickstart and play adventures that need different monsters than you have access to, let me know, and I would be happy to bang out variant monsters for you.

It becomes increasingly apparent that the term "SRD" now means "free basic rules" rather than "developer toolkit". We actually see people using our SRD rather than the actual much more comprehensive and player-friendly tools site we offer, presumably because that's what they associate the term "SRD" with. I feel like we publishers should all start calling our free basic rules SRDs, and our SRDs something else, like DTKs or something. I mean, I don't mind that people use our SRD to check out our rules, but I'd prefer they use the tools site which gives them a much better, and far more comprehensive experience.

Especially because that site just is really good to use. Shame if people parse straight text.

I mean many people did this years ago already: 13th Age SRD or d20PFSRD
