Just pulled the trigger on Japan - 6 tickets (spouse, two 20-something kids, each their partner).

Will be there Dec 20-Jan 3 this holiday season.

Tokyo through christmas, then down to Kobe/Osaka to visit with my brother and his family.

If you were going to Japan, spending 4-5 days in Tokyo area, and 5-6 days in Kanto (Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe) area - what are the must do things?
Can be nerdly or not.

Climb Mt. Fuji.

Go see Osaka Castle

See Asakusa and Akihabara

If you can make it, see if you can visit Studio Ghibli.

Mt Fuji will sadly be closed over Christmas break; but It is on my bucket list. Apparently every other member of my nuclear birth family (not the one I've created with my spouse) has climbed Mt. Fuji...

I hear Tokyo has a Godzilla store in some multilevel mall that I would love to see for myself, if I ever got the chance.

There is a Godzilla store in Shinjuku, and I am pretty sure they sell merch where the Godzilla head is in Shinjuku Kabukicho, and one in Shibuya, I think in the PARCO, same mall that the Nintendo Store & Pokemon Center is. There is also a Godzilla store in Osaka, Shinsaibashi PARCO.
