Justice League cartoon question (SPOILERS)

Klaus

First Post
I watched an episode of JL the other day, but it doesn't show up in the Cartoon Network episode guide.

SPOILERS

It's after the GL/Hawkwoman kiss, as John gives her a quick kiss as they fly, and wants them to get dinner together.

A spaceship is headed towards Washington DC, and fires. The League is readying themselves to battle it, when said spaceship is blown up by a ray coming from an even BIGGER spaceship, with an armada in tow. When they land, the League readies themselves. From the lead spaceship comes a large man, with a hawk helm and big wings from his shoulders... a thanagarian (although not Katar Hol, it is revealed that he is Hawkwoman's fiance). The thanagarians warn Earth that their ancient enemies, the gordanians (Teen Titans reference here), are headed to Earth, and their covert spy (Hawkwoman) has shown them that Earth's defenses won't stop the gordanians. Thanagar will build a huge shield generator to defend Earth.

John is devastated by the news that Shayera (yes, she has a name!) is not only taken, but also a spy. Meanwhile, Batman (who else?) and Wonder Woman find out (during a necropsy!) that the gordanians were already dead when their ship was blown apart by the thanagarians. During an undercover mission inside the thanagarian mothership, Batman's cover is blown, and he is captured. Likewise with WW, Superman, J'onn and Flash (big battle). When GL is the last one standing, Hawkwoman (in a very warrior outfit) tells him to trust her. As he lowers his ring, she smacks him on the head with the mace, apparently betraying the League.

Yet I found no mention of this episode on Cartoon Network, or of its sequel...

Anyone seen this?

No, but I wish I had. If anyone gets word of when they'll run this again, please drop us a note here.

AFAIK, its the first of the three part (unless they do another 90 minute movie) season 2 finale, which has yet to see airtime (at least in the States).

The events that happen in the movie change the League for the third season, which you can find elsewhere.

When was this episode on? Just recently? This would have been a new episode entirely, and not one that I've seen.

This might have been the first part of the season finale three-parter, "Starcrossed", which has just been announced for a July DVD release, I think.

I have heard that Justice League Unlimited has been announced, which I think will replace JL proper next year.

According to TV Tome, Comfort and Joy was the last episode shown (Dec 13, 2003). I'm hoping they'll show it next Saturday as a full length movie since this Saturday will have the Batwoman movie.

YES! "Starcrossed" was the name of the episode!

It aired here in Brazil last Thursday, but I missed the sequel on Friday!

I must say, thanagarians kick arse! Plus Hawkwoman in a bare midriff military uniform is niiiice! :D

EDIT:

I found a website with screenshots of Starcrossed parts 2 & 3 here (SPOILERS ABOUND):

Part 3:

Some more spoiler space...

seems like we'll finally get to see everyone in their secret IDs, including Flash (Wally West!!!), Batman (hosting the JL in the Batcave) and J'onn (as John Jones).

It's called 'Starcrossed' and is the three part finale to season two.

WB plans on releasing it on DVD here in the States in July, and it'll air shortly afterwards on Cartoon Network.

I'm lucky enough to work for a major video distributor--Warner sent us all screener copies of it last week. It's great! Every Justice Leaguer gets to shine, and their secet IDs even get to figure in this time around.

I still like 'Savage Time' and 'Twilight' better, but it's the third best Justice League story so far.

Is it just me or does it look like WW is cheating on Batman in one of the pictures provided in the first link. ;)
