Our latest Kickstarter campaign is now live! It's your last chance to pick up a copy of the super-duper special Limited Edition of Places by the Way #3: Secrets of Oyster Cove. The work on Secrets of Oyster Cove is almost done, so we anticipate shipping rewards in October.

Places by the Way is our series of short location modules for D&D 5th Edition, written by RPG veteran Douglas Sun. Secrets of Oyster Cove takes the series to a remote fishing village with more going on than meets the eye. It can be run as a stand-alone, or as a sequel to Places by the Way #2: A Treasure on the Rocks. For more information and purchase links for modules that we have already published, check out the Ramen Sandwich website.

Limited Editions of Places by the Way modules contain a little Easter Egg of content that will not be in the Standard Edition that goes on sale to the general public. It's only for those of us who generous enough to support Places by the Way on Kickstarter. Think of it as an inside joke between us and our Kickstarter peeps. The current campaign ends on October 1, so don't miss your chance to join the club!

To everyone who has taken an interest in this campaign so far: Thank you!

A designer's note that didn’t quite fit into the project description, but I think it’s worth mentioning: You’ll be getting more bang for the buck with Secrets of Oyster Cove. The word count topped out at about 30% longer than Village of Darkharrow and A Treasure on the Rocks. This should translate into a 20% increase in page count.

This happened pretty much by accident. I didn’t intend to write Oyster Cove longer than it’s predecessors; it just turned out that way. I just wrote out all of the ideas that I had for the module and the word count kept going up. I don’t know if there’s something unique to Oyster Cove that made it run long, or if I’m settling into some sort of expansive groove with Places by the Way and 12,000+ words is the new normal for the series.

Regardless, this will not affect how Ramen Sandwich Press prices Places by the Way, either on Kickstarter or in the wild. We’re not going to raise the price just because they start running a little longer than the first two entries in the series.

Our current Kickstarter campaign runs until October 1!

We're always the last to know about things, but better late than never: You can get a PDF copy of The Village of Darkharrow and A Treasure on the Rocks for 33% off at DriveThru RPG until October 1! Check out our website for purchase links!

We call the most expensive reward in our current Kickstarter campaign our "Catch-Up Special:" For $75 + shipping, you get autographed print copies and PDF copies of the Limited Editions of Places by the Way #1, #2 and #3. We had some print overrun copies from the earlier Kickstarters and thought this would be a good way to get new backers up to speed with the series. This also means, however, that only six such sets are available.

We're pleased to announce that as of this moment, five of those sets have been claimed. Thank you to everyone who has taken such an interest in Places by the Way!

This also means, of course, that if you had your eye on this reward, you shouldn't wait! Snap it up; don't snooze and lose, because interest in Places by the Way is heating up!

Our thanks to Egg Embry for giving us a plug on the Tessera Guild blog! He's got all the linkage you need to catch up with Ramen Sandwich Press, if you don't have those links already.

There's only 10 days left to reserve your copy of the Limited (Kickstarter exclusive) Edition of Places by the Way #3: Secrets of Oyster Cove!

Kickstarter's analytics tell us that a couple of pledges to our current campaign have come directly from EN World, so our warmest thanks to the EN World community for your interest and support! There's one week left in the campaign to support Places by the Way #3: Secrets of Oyster Cove, and there's still plenty of room for more backers! It's your last chance to snap up a copy of the Limited (Kickstarter exclusive) Edition of Secrets of Oyster Cove!

Writing and production have gone smoothly, so I just posted the following update to Kickstarter:

"With one week left to go in the current campaign, I’m pleased to report that the omens are largely positive. I’m grateful for all the pledges that have come in so far, and here’s hoping for many more in the coming days. There’s still plenty of room on the bandwagon!

"We expect to get the test print of Secrets of Oyster Cove Limited Edition any day now. If there are no problems with it, we’ll be able to order the actual print run as soon as the campaign ends and we know how many copies we’ll need. I think we’re finally getting a handle on this whole staying on schedule thing.

"I finished the manuscript for Storm Under the Moonshaes, the Forgotten Realms version of Places by the Way #3, and sent it off for layout on Friday afternoon — just in time to relax over dinner and then watch the Dodgers clinch the National League West on TV. And yes, I do refer to Umberlee as the Bitch Queen as many times as I felt I could get away with it.

"This means, of course, that all versions of Places by the Way #3 will be published in October, probably no later than the 20th. This also means that I can clear my desk, spread out the blueprint for Places by the Way #4, and start serious work on it during the coming week. To help gather my thoughts, I wrote up another design blog and posted it to 'I Think We’ve Been Playing It Wrong.'”

Google Analytics tells us that we have gotten a strong response from the EN World community to our current Kickstarter — lots of traffic directly from this site, and a couple of pledges! So on behalf of Ramen Sandwich Press, I thank you!

Our current campaign will end on Sunday, so if you haven't reserved your copy of the Limited Edition of Places by the Way #3: Secrets of Oyster Cove, make sure you don't miss out!

"Oh the days dwindle down/To a precious few..." September is almost over, which means two things to Ramen Sandwich Press and our fans:

First, there's only a few days left to pick up the PDF versions of The Village of Darkharrow and A Treasure on the Rocks for 1/3 off at DriveThru RPG!

Also, there's only a few days left to reserve your copy of the Limited (Kickstarter only) Edition of Places by the Way #3: Secrets of Oyster Cove! Both DTRPG's sale and our current Kickstarter end on October 1!
