KotS: Sir Keegan

Morrus

Well, that was fun

This is a really bad choice of name for use in the UK. It was greeted with laughter at my game table (I shouldn've changed it myself, I know).

He's a household name in this country.

Anyway, the important point: has anyone actually beaten him? My players ran screaming last night.

I doubt companies really consider anything about the way their NPCs are pronounced, much less the impact of a name in another country.

My players ran screaming last night.

What'd he do, [insert proper sports terminology for making a great move] them? :D

That is funny - At least Kevin Keegan wasn't knighted, eh? :)
If he was a household name around here, yeah, I can imagine our game group wouldn't stop laughing. or gotten past that. when he was encountered.

As for beating him up, no, we had some wierd sense to interact rather than attack him ... (of course, it may have helped that we (the way it worked out) got to his room _last_ which meant
he was easily mollified by us saying the evil cult activities were stopped)
at least that is how our DM played it.) I have a feeling we would have gotten our PC butts handed to us if we even tried attacking him.

I haven't played KotS, but I have to admit every time I heard the name on forums I instantly thought of Kevin. Not a name for a scary bad guy.

My fiance has a friend named keegan... So the name kind of makes me laugh as well...

Also why do they keep saying that guy played football? Far as I can tell he played soccer...

Yeah.... I mean he never even used a stick! What kind of football is that? And don't get me started on what they do in tight shorts in Oz!

As one of the players who ran screaming, it was awful!

We meet the monstrosity, have a bad run of luck (4 skill checks, all at about +10, and we all rolled lower than 4), and so the psychopathic monstrosity ups and decides to kill us!

8 rounds, 4 daily powers, 5 action points and at least 4 people having been reduced to below 0HP (some of them several times), we fled, leaving both the dwarves staining the flagstones behind us.

It seems somehow wrong that a run of seriously bad luck simply results in the party getting butchered by a sword-wielding steamroller... :(
