Learned Boost

When you use the Academy Master attack 11 power, Learned Boost, one is considered to be using an encounter power correct? And not the at-will that is used in conjunction with it?

Thus, I take it that if the Learned Boost attack hits, then one does not gain any benefits associated with the At-will power used in conjunction with Learned Boost, such as White Lotus Riposte? Is this correct?

Or is it all considered to be conjoined?

Well, it's an encounter power. But when you use it, you use an at-will attack. So you get everything attached to that at-will including white lotus benefits. You are, for all intents and purposes using an at-will power that just happens to do more damage.

However, the "on the target" wording confuses me to this day.

Thanks. Yeah, I guess it would be kind of silly if it didn't work that way?, given an Academy Master.

I never noticed that about the wording! That's odd.

Another thing I was wondering, if you have White Lotus Riposte and hit with an At-Will, you don't have to apply the riposte, that is, it's optional, correct?

Given the Academy Masters 16th level "Buff At-Wills" ability, I hope all the at-will benefits apply to LB...

You dont 'apply' WLR, its an effect if the target attacks you next round. WLMR is an IR so you do need to 'apply' that one.
