Living Arcanis Gentry Feat

I'm looking for some Living Arcanis veterans to inform me of the usefulness or lack-there-of of the gentry feat. Does it provide any real in-game benefit. I'm not interested in spoilers, but I would like to know if there are special situations in the story where someone in the party having the gentry feat is really useful; and if there's enough of these situations to warrant taking this feat.

Wow. An Arcanis question. I just happened to come across this while searching for something else.

Gentry is more of a roleplaying feat. It designates you as a member of the nobility - and if you're playing actual LA and not just a home campaign, that's one of the only ways to get that designation. Being a noble lets you carry a flintlock without being a Val or Altherian. It also gives you a leg up in many social situations where being a noble would be of benefit (in other words, you often get bonuses to Diplomacy or other skills to get your way), or it may be the only way for someone to hear you out at all.

My main character in LA had the feat, and it tended to at least be mentioned fairly regularly. Is it min/max useful? No - it's a flavor feat. It does have plenty of uses though.

While I'm at it - were you aware that there's a new Arcanis campaign? "Chronicles of the Shattered Empire" was previewed at Origins last year, and will come out full-force this coming Origins. Go to Paradigm Concepts: Arcanis, Living Arcanis, Witch Hunter, Spycraft, and More! for more info.
