Lost and kept in odd ways.

The thread about multiple books is very cool and I thought lots about the odd ways I've lost stuff and kept stuff.

For instance, I used to tell stories to my first son using the miniatures I was painting at the time. That was years ago, and I soon stopped painting and playing. I put those miniatures away in my night stand. A couple of years ago, after several moves and my young sons lifetime ago, he found them. I had forgotten they were even there. His younger brother went and finished a couple of them. I gave them to him and everytime I see them I have to smile. No other miniatures of mine survive from that time or earlier.

I had some old coins (nothing of real great value) from my grandmother, who had saved them from her father who carried them over with him from England. They were in a small coin purse and when I was younger I used to keep them at the game table with me as a prop that I would sometimes use, to show how I was paying for something or enticing some person from whom I was getting information. Last week I ran across that old coin purse and it brought back those memories.
