I hate it when Wizards do this to me. Here I am, in my happy little hatin' FR world, and they have to bring up a FR book with nice feats like Battlecurse and Trapmaster and a really interesting prestige class like Magelord...

I'm going to try to resist...

Depends what's in that random ruin section...

Cheers!

the forgotten realms books have been good, I just don't think they've been using the right things to show off their work

I expected more of a nice fluff book, actually. Hopefully, it's not such a lost opportunity like the Shining South, which was not shining at all...

Notice that the feats, spells and prestige classes are all from chapter ONE!

Chapter Three is the Crown Wars
Chapter Ten is the Artifacts...

Cheers!

1) I have the book on preorder with amazon, sight unseen. And I've had it that way for the past month or so.

2) There's mention of yugoloths in the excerpt (relating to the 3 nycaloths that leveled Myth Drannor). This makes me happy.

3) My only worry about the book (perhaps unfounded) is that it may be a case of trying to cover too many things in a single book and not being able to devote the page space needed to do justice to them. I could care less about feats, classes, crunch in general, than I do about getting details on the culture and history of the various fallen empires, especially Imaskar and Jhaamdath.

I'm really looking forward to this one.

Exactly. Add to that it has random ruins tables, and I'm set. I'm a sucker for random tables, especially something like ruins. Mmm, this book is going to be great.
