Main hand, off hand, and sneak attack

If a rogue is dual wielding and succesfully gets his sneak attack. Does he get it for his offhand as well? Or just his main hand. What about multiple attacks per round?

Please clarify.

Thanks

It depends on why the rogue gets to sneak attack, but in most cases: yes. Exceptions would be things like using Bluff to feint or being invisible, which disappear after one attack.

If you're opponent is flat-footed, or you have flanked him, etc, you can sneak attack. There is no limit to the number of times you can sneak attack someone in a round, nor is it limited by primary/off-hands.

The general rule is that a rogue gets a sneak attack every time he makes an attack role, so yes, he gets a sneak attack with the off-weapon.

There are exceptions to this, of course.... Shuriken, for example, you only get a sneak attack with the first one, even though you make three attack rolls. Similarly, if you're sneak attacking with a ranged-touch attack spell like "Lesser Acid Orb", only the first orb can be used to make a sneak attack.

Actually... question about that one now that I think about it.

I don't have the text in front of me, but I believe that with "Lesser Acid Orb", you're allowed to split up the orbs to multiple targets similar to how "Magic Missle" works.

If you had 3 enemies in front of you, all flat-footed (assume first round of combat) can you divide up a "Lesser Acid Orb" amongst the targets (assuming you have at least 3) and get a sneak attack on each one?

From the FAQ...

When you sneak attack with one of the orb or lesser orb
spells from Tome and Blood, do you get sneak attack
damage from every orb in the volley? Also, what effect, if
any, does the Fortitude half saving throw have on the
sneak attack damage?

&nbsp&nbspThe sneak attack damage applies only to the first orb in the
volley, just as it does when you throw multiple shuriken as
part of a single attack action. If the first orb hits, add the
sneak attack damage to the orb damage, then roll the save,
and halve the result if the save succeeds.
