Anyone else notice the phoenix force in Mother Askani of Clan Askani?

Rama-Tut aka Kang aka Immortus aka Bender the janitor from the OG's Beyond Good and Evil. Nice try magneto on redeeming him.

Oh yes. In the comics,
Mother Askani is an old Rachel Summers, the daughter of Scott and Jean from the Days of Future Past timeline. She has extremely powerful telepathy and telekinesis she inherited from her mother along with a connection to the Phoenix Force, and in addition has her own mutant time-traveling power. For a time in her home timeline, she was enslaved by the government and forced to perform as a Hound, using her telepathy to hunt down mutants for others to capture/kill. That's where she got the facial tattoos.

Rachel is one of my favorite X-Men, and it's a shame that she's been so underused since she was written out of Excalibur.

Watched the first episode and a half and damn if they aren't still speedrunning at incredible speeds. That was The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix in about five minutes.

(Stryfe is probably grumpy at being left out but he was a pretty annoying character anyway.)

Is Kang's timeline different from the one with the future Age of Apocalypse somehow? Like, Kang is supposed to be strong because of all his advanced 30th century tech, right? But Apocalypse exists in the 40th century. Should his stuff not be even better?

Wow, Jubilee got a badass upgrade. Must be all that time she’s spent with Wolverine. Also, did she get those roller boots in a Stark sale?

So, my understanding is the tech in the desert that everyone wants at the beginning of Apoc's story is celestial which is more powerful than Kang's tech. At the time in the past, Apoc doesn't have any tech beyond what they steal from Rama-Tut.

The other thing I think is that Kang came back to the past to shape En Sabah Nur into being his heir.
