Melee Touch Attack

Does anyone else think a melee touch attack should be dex based instead of strength based?

By the rules, it's Strength based. You're sure to find those with other ideas in the House Rules forum.

the idea for it being strength based is that you still have to push through your opponents defenses in order to touch a significant part of the body.

If you want to use dex, you just have to take the Weapon Finesse (touch) feat.

Yse, as the previous posters said, it is a melee attack and therefore it is "strength-based". I agree it doesn't necessarily make perfect sense (at least from the point of view of the attack roll), but that's how it works. And Weapon Finesse is the only viable choice, although it costs a feat...
