miniatures handbook art and bastion?

In the miniatures handbook art section one of them is of a cat outsider. It is humanoid in form and has four arms. If you have Bastion Press' Minions Fearsome Foes, or Minions Rebirth or even some of their Oathbound products you might notice it looks just like a Knuk one of Bastion's four armed cat men monster/races.

I'm not familiar with the Bastion race so I can't comment on that, but I will say that I'm very impressed with the MiniHB art gallery. It looks like some of the best overall art I've seen on a Wizard's product in the whole 3e era.

There's a cat outsider, a crocodile outsider, and some kind of elephant-guy, all grouped together. It sounds to me like it might be some kind of new template. Animal Outsider, or somesuch. I doubt they used Bastion's OGC. But the four-armed cat-man is a pretty unique image. We'll have to wait and see, I guess.

Interesting tidbits to be gleaned form the gallery, too. For instance, it looks like the "Marshal" class they previewed a little while ago has been re-named the "captain". There seems to be a lot of cool stuff in there. This book has gradually escalated from the "eh, whatever" category to the "I really need to look through this" category.

The real irony being: Adrian Smith does some of the art for this book, and painted the cover to the current Tyranid codex, but didn't paint these bugs. Most of the good art in the preview is from him. Looks like I can remarket my tyranid army as a bug army for the 3.5 game. Anyone need a cheap and huge bug army?

I'm actually probably going to get this book, or at least flick through it, on the basis on the art gallery. I could care less about the art ultimately, but the aspects sound like the sort of thing that I will use, and some of the other art is of other intriguing sounding stuff (bonded summoner?)

I'd love for there to be an aspect of graz'zt. but no picture... :(

Art does look great on this book.

I wonder if that's because it's a miniatures book or just because WoTC is getting better? I'd like to think it's the latter but suspect that it's the former as they're now, even if only indirectly, going against Games Workshop and their art is top notch almost all the way through.
