Modding an adventure for a smaller group.

Hey guys I want to play Delzomen's Iceforge, an adventure setting in the back of the book Frostburn, the book says that "As presented, Delzomen’s Iceforge should provide a challenge for a group of 5th-level characters."

The only problem is that it won't be a group of 5th-level players, just me and a friend so only 2 people.

I am just asking what I should change to make it playable for me and my friend, I was thinking possibly just raising the level for the adventure to 7 or by having 2 other characters(run by me) join our group(Though running 3 characters might be a bit much to do while also DMing a game).

What do you guys think?

If it wouldn't be breaking any copyright laws, I could post the info of the adventure setting.

If you guys are up to running multiple characters, take on two each, or give three to your friend, and one to you since you'll also be running the opposition.

The simpler methods are:
1) the DM adjusts the encounters to accomodate a smaller party (fewer monsters, ways to bypass various traps and problems that rely upon classes not being played, etc.).
2) the PCs are at least +2 levels over the recommended level of the adventure. Even then, they'll need some options for bypassing things they can't deal with (if no PC has Trapfinding then they can't deal with most traps; if no Wizard / Sorcerrer then they can't deal with magical glyphs and wardings; etc.).

Good luck.

Thanks Valhalla, I think I will do a mix of what you said, the adventure will be raised to seventh level, but I am getting rid of any traps in the dungeon(as we won't have a PC with trap finding), and replacing them with magical glyphs and wardings, so our wizard can deal with them.
