Modiphius' warehouse clearance sale includes hardcover games for just £5

Buy Dune, Star Trek, and more at rock bottom prices!
Modiphius is clearing space in its warehouse, with hundreds of products reduced with massive discounts--sometimes as low as £5 for a £50 hardcover TTRPG book such as Dune: Adventures in the Imperium (including collector's editions), Star Trek Adventures Player's Guide, or John Carter of Mars. There's also miniatures boxed sets and accessories for similar prices, including several different Fallout: Wasteland Warfare miniature sets, Star Trek Starfleet Deck Tiles, and various Dune dice sets. Overall, there's nearly 300 products on sale, many under £10, and many for just £5.

Modiphius has indicated that this stock will not be reprinted, and says that the clearance sale is to make space in its warehouse, but many are speculating that some of the company's many IP licenses may be coming to an end. The company's official statement said "Out with the old and in with the new! It’s that time of year, and we’re clearing out the ol’ warehouses to make room for fresh arrivals. That means over 300 select items just hit rock-bottom prices… Bear in mind that once we’re sold out, we will NOT be restocking, so don’t leave your favourites sitting in your cart for too long!"

The sale includes items from many of Modiphius' lines, including Star Trek, Dune, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, John Carter of Mars, Dishonoured, and Stargate, along with boardgames like Lobotomy 2, Homeworld Fleet Command, and Escape from Stalingrad Z.

Some of the stock is not published by Modiphius, which often acts as a reseller for other publishers' products such as Mindjammer, Infinity, and Odyssey of the Dragonlords. The Marvel Multiverse Roleplaying Game, for example, is on sale for £27, about half it's normal price.

It's not just £5 books, though. There are some massive discounts on limited edition books like the Dune: Core Rulebook Imperial Limited Edition, which normally costs a whopping £550, and is on sale for £225.

That's a bummer. Dune is a cool game.

With the aggressive discounts on licensed games and the increase in miniatures games, it makes me think Modiphius is not long for this world, at least in its current form.

Picked up what could be picked up from the Dune line in the US store, and then scrounged the rest of the line from around; literally had to buy one book (Landsraad) in Holland ($50) and have it sent to my parents in Denmark so I can pick it up the next time I'm home, it's so scarce.

I don't know that I'll ever get it to the table, but I've been eyeing it since it debuted, and not going to pay <checks Noble Knight> $160 for Landsraad used already!

Whether or not Modiphius continues the Dune license is a moot point for me. I typically only buy the hardcover CRB for the table. Everything else I buy as PDFs. As well, I always have a computer running a VTT beside the table that has the TTRPG on a big sceen, for those players that can only play remotely. And players at the table always have the option of using a laptop I keep on hand to browse any player books on the VTT.

My plan is to just buy the rest of the Dune series as PDF. That said, if I hear Modiphius is nixing the distribution of the PDFs too, I'll be buying many in a hurry. What I've noticed though, is that Modiphius frequently offers the whole collection of a specific series PDFs on Humblebundle.com. And they often do it when there's a new edition (i.e. STA 2) coming, or their discontinuing the series. They already did that once for Dune and I'm hoping that they'll offer it again,

That said, I totaly understand GMs who want the collection of phyisical books and any starter sets. Last year I bough the Warhammer 40k Imperium Maledictum CRB, and liked it so much that I bought the starter set and every book published. And I intend to keep buying any new hardcover released for the series. It doesn't happen for me often, but at times I just want a whole series' attractive books sitting up their on my bookshelf.

PSA - if you do buy any of the books, check you email receipt for a download link. I got PDFs of the four products I bought which adds to the overall value significantly for me since I only had one of them before.

Modiphius Entertainment participates in the Bits & Mortar program. So even if you don't buy a HC from them directly, you can request a code from a retailer to get a download of the corresponding PDF.

Actually, you don't even have to do that. If you buy from anywhere, you can send them an email and they'll comp you the PDF. A lot easier than going through the Bits and Mortar process, IMO. I just email them with my receipt and they send me a sendowl or a dtrpg code.
