Mongoose's plans for d20 Conan RPG?

Sanguinemetaldawn

First Post
Has Mongoose made a statement about what they are planning for their Conan line? Especially in light of 4E.

Thier latest stuff is:
Conan RPG - Second Edition ...ehhh I might pick it up
Return to the Road of Kings ...probably not
Player's Guide to the Hyborian Age ...definitely not right now

I am especially waiting for something on Hyrkania, Turan and the Vilayet Sea.
Thanks.

Msprange noted they have no plans to make Conand20-4E.

Nobody is really doing anything of course until the SRD is released (god knows when that will be).

I'm really intrigued by the 2nd Edition Conan book. It's huge and gorgeous.

However, what's changed? What have they done differently? Anyone know? I can't find a review of it.

After intense reading they found a few pages they were free of typos and spelling errors, 2nd edition is a huge step forward in correcting these error free pages.

Don't confuse Conan 2nd edition with the 2nd printing of the 1st edition. The 1st printing of the 1ed Conan book was full of errors. They corrected them and released the Atlantean Edition, which was the 2nd printing.

The newest book is the 2nd edition rules. There are some changes but after I took a look at it and looked at the list of the actual changes, I didn't feel it was significant enough to warrant a new printing. It's basically a glorified errata.

So, do they plan to just sit on the IP? I assume they have some license to produce Conan material; I wonder if that license expires if they fail to produce something with it in x amount of time.

Fail to produce. . . um, what?

There are two new releases just in this month, for instance.

But if they don't plan to move to 4E I think they could expect to see that market dry up come July-ish unless they plan to do systemless stuff.
