Monster Index Online?

Given that I'm about to run a 2e game for my son's birthday and will probably use some 1e module for the show, I'd like to know whether there exists something like a 2e monster index?

I'm not so much looking for the data but for references to the different incarnations of Monstrous Compendiums and Monster Manuals, Dungeons and Dragons and whatnot. While I have many of those books and collections, searching through all of them for one specific critter doesn't rhyme with fun.

Do you trust Wikipedia? It looks good anyway. Just hit "show" on the links.

Echohawk's index that kitcik linked (not the wikipedia one) is a truly excellent resource. It's a complete index of _all_ D&D monsters (and official/semi-official conversions) up through 3.5e and including some of 4e. I think he stopped updating it sometime in 2008. It's in spreadsheet form, so it's searchable, sortable, and filterable.

The World of Sulerin also has a great monster index/encounter maker including 3e and 2e sources.
