Adventurer's Vault contains two interesting wondrous items; the Power Jewel and the Salve of Power (page 176).

So if you collect a whole pocketful of these, you could use all of them, right?

Then; I was wondering if you couldn't base a whole set of items on the stats of these two...

Power Jewel, Ruby (Level 3)
Wondrous Item 360 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to regain the use of an encounter power of 1st level.
Special: You must have reached at least one milestone today to activate this item.

Power Jewel, Ruby (Level 5)
Wondrous Item 1,000 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to regain the use of an encounter power of 3rd level.
Special: You must have reached at least one milestone today to activate this item.

Power Jewel, Ruby (Level 9)
Wondrous Item 4,200 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to regain the use of an encounter power of 7th level.
Special: You must have reached at least one milestone today to activate this item.

Power Jewel, Ruby (Level 15)
Wondrous Item 25,000 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to regain the use of an encounter power of 13th level.
Special: You must have reached at least one milestone today to activate this item.

Power Jewel, Ruby (Level 19)
Wondrous Item 105,000 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to regain the use of an encounter power of 17th level.
Special: You must have reached at least one milestone today to activate this item.

Power Jewel, Ruby (Level 25)
Wondrous Item 625,000 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to regain the use of an encounter power of 23rd level.
Special: You must have reached at least one milestone today to activate this item.

Power Jewel, Ruby (Level 29)
Wondrous Item 2,625,000 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to regain the use of an encounter power of 27th level.
Special: You must have reached at least one milestone today to activate this item.

Power Jewel, Onyx (Level 5)
Wondrous Item 1,000 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to expend a healing surge to regain the use of a daily power of 1st level (instead of regaining hit points).

Power Jewel, Onyx (Level 9)
Wondrous Item 4,200 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to expend a healing surge to regain the use of a daily power of 5th level (instead of regaining hit points).

Power Jewel, Onyx (Level 13)
Wondrous Item 17,000 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to expend a healing surge to regain the use of a daily power of 9th level (instead of regaining hit points).

Power Jewel, Onyx (Level 19)
Wondrous Item 105,000 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to expend a healing surge to regain the use of a daily power of 15th level (instead of regaining hit points).

Power Jewel, Onyx (Level 23)
Wondrous Item 425,000 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to expend a healing surge to regain the use of a daily power of 19th level (instead of regaining hit points).

Power Jewel, Onyx (Level 29)
Wondrous Item 2,625,000 gp; Daily: Minor Action. This power allows you to expend a healing surge to regain the use of a daily power of 25th level (instead of regaining hit points).


And yes, I'm using the ruby and the onyx to match the color-coding of encounter and daily powers, respectively.

Yeah, I'm not sure what you're asking, Cap. Yes you can use all of them, but no you can't use them all in the same day. You're still limited by the X item daily and healing surge abilities per day rules.
 

I'm pretty sure ap's asking for feedback on the expansion of the power jewel to more than just 1st/3rd encounter powers.

I have very little experience of balancing this sort of thing, so I can't comment knowledgeably about that aspect, but I will say that I agree that it would be nice to have more options for power jewels.

I do have one question, though. The power jewel in the book allows you to regain a power of 1st or 3rd level. Was your expectation that yours would just do the level specified or that level or any lower level encounter power?
 

Hmm, it might be useful if there was some way to avoid crazy bursting with dailies.

Like, not having someone burn 6-8 dailies in one epic combat would be good :)
