Move Equivalent AND a 5' Step?

Can you make a move equivalent action, a standard action and get a 5' step?

The case comes with drinking a potion. Can you take a 5' step (away from a threatened space by the way), get and take a potion?

What about drawing a weapon or sheathing one? Can you put away a weapon (a MEA), draw a weapon (a MEA, if you are not currently attacking with it), and take the step?

Yes, as long as it's not an actual move. Getting out a potion, or sheathing a weapon, or regain psionic focus with the Psionic Meditation feat, are all OK to combine with a 5' step.

Thanks!

To back it up with the SRD:

You can take a move action in place of a standard action. If you move no actual distance in a round (commonly because you have swapped your move for one or more equivalent actions), you can take one 5-foot step either before, during, or after the action.

Right - like drawing a weapon and stepping bck from the door the orcs have just started trying to batter down. ^_^
