I really should get around to watching this show, as I've heard nothing but good things about it. But the attachment of Shyamalan as director leaves me wary. This would be better entrusted to a director who can actually do big screen fantasy, like Guillermo del Toro (
Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth), or Andrew Adamson (
Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia).

Video game adaptations as a rule suck, so I don't think it'll be any different here. Besides, I don't see how you can make a superhero flick with a city full of 'em and not have it come off like
Sky High.

Let me just say that I thought David Lynch's film was horrible, despite the incredible production design and atmosphere. The Scifi miniseries on the other hand I thought was wonderful (especially
Children of Dune, with that kickass Brian Tyler soundtrack), and improved some of the book's flaws in my view. That said, I'm all for a big budget LOTR treatment of science fiction's most acclaimed novel. I just don't think Peter Berg is the director who can deliver on that promise. Nothing in his resume convinces me that he can achieve the same type of artistic and commercial success that Peter Jackson has. But hey, if he can surprise me like PJ did, so much the better.

Refer to my post about
City of Heroes.

Besides, aren't people looking forward to a
World of Warcraft movie more?

I've never been a
Green Lantern fan, yet if this movie is halfway decent, I may go and see it.
If it comes out though. :\ Let's face it, DC Warner haven't been as prolific as Marvel in utilizing their vast stable of comic characters for movie and tv.

Wait... didn't David Haselhoff do this one already?

Unlike what some people may think, Rainbow Six started out as a Tom Clancy novel rather than a videogame.

Still, while I've liked the previous Clancy films (
The Hunt for Red October being my fave), don't know if I'll line up to see this. Depending on the review though, I may just check it out if it's favourable.

Refer again to City of Heroes.

Okay, now you're asking trouble here. How to make an adaptation of a classic 80's cartoon without it coming off like some Star Wars ripoff? Plus you have the pressure of being compared to the original Japanese series (
Super Dimensional Fortress Macross) it was based on.

The Alec Baldwin film was flawed to be sure, but it did have it's good moments (particularly w/ the Shadow's origin and the display of his powers), but this new film better get it right. Let's have more pulpy goodness (
Indiana Jones, The Rocketeer) instead of pulp boredom (
Sky Captain and the World of Tommorow, The Phantom).

Again, refer to my City of Heroes post.

I'm sorry...WHAT? At first I thought this was some lame way to rip off Terry Gilliam's
The Brother's Grimm, but then I found out it was an actual book series. Hmmm... could be good. But let's have a children's fantasy flick of the quality of Narnia and Spiderwick (need to watch this) and not The Golden Compass (so dissapointing).

I'm a big fan of Sam Fisher and his games. And unlike most videogames, he had the fortune of having Tom Clancy (a name sure to attract some A-list Hollywood talent) being involved. So this could go either way, but early rumors of wanting to cast a young actor in the role of Sam Fisher have me worried.

Whoa. Been quite a while since I saw
The Last Starfighter, but this is intriguing to say the least. I'll reserve judgement if and when this comes out.

The original was already awesome, why remake it? :\

Uhm... no. I liked
Voltron as a kid, but I can't see how you can make this and not be compared to the Power Rangers.
