Mystic Eye Games Adds A New Family Member

For Immediate Release:

Bard’s Production becomes newest member in MEG’s growing family.
Right on the heels of the success of Open World Press’s 1A: Hamlet of Thumble, Mystic Eye Games LLC is proud to announce that Bard’s Production will be the newest member of their family. Bard’s Production effective 10/01/2003 will be housed and distributed under MEG to all levels of distribution. This will not effect the availability of any of their older or newer product at all. It has been a very smooth transition.

Doug Herring, president of Mystic Eye Games had this to say about this change
”We have worked with Jeff at Bard’s productions for some time behind the scenes. This change to their business model will help them to focus entirely on the production of the new and innovative products we have come to expect from them.”

Jeff Colledge, president of Bard’s Production stated "We are very pleased to be joining the Mystic Eye Games family. With the resources that MEG has to offer, we feel that Bard's Productions will continue to grow and improve without needing to relinquish our focus on our core fans.”

Just look for all of Bard’s Production under the header “MYG” and enjoy the same quality and style that fans have grown to love from them, they are in good hands.

Mystic Eye Games is the publisher of award-nominated lines The Hunt: Rise of Evil, Bluffside: City on the Edge and Foul Locales as well as some new lines Player’s Advantage and Fall of Man and other d20 System titles. Created in 2000 by Doug Herring and Andrew Thompson the gothic style company grew to larger proportions when Hal Greenberg joined in late 2001, since then the company has brought some of the most innovative products to the RPG customer.

Bard's Productions is the publisher of the Common Ground series of DM tools and the Epic Tales series of mini campaigns. Created in 2001 by Jeff Colledge, Bard's Productions has focused on creating products for DMs who may be new to that role or simply don't have as much time as they would like to prepare.

Interesting news in light of some of hte discussions on price. In this case, the consolidation of material under one publisher thorugh many branches.

I'm sure that we'll see other companies continue to go this route and in the long run, it's actulaly probably better as it allows the bigger companies to evenly space the releases instead of competiting with each other for shelf space and consumer dollar.

So this is starting one year from now? Or is this a typo? ;)

We are pretty thrilled with this and it ties into some other interesting announcements we will have soon. If any other small press publishers are interested in what we are doing here please drop me a line. I believe we are entering into an arena that can really benefit all involved a great deal.

Just as a note, MEG and Bard's Productions have not merged. Bar'ds Productions is still a seperate design studio and business. They have just joined the Mystic Eye Games family of Publishers.
