Naeronites and Chromatic Dragons...Silverglass?

First Post
So this came up far earlier then I thought it would in the game I am in...but I was wondering what the relationship between the worshippers of Naeron and Chromatic dragons are? I didn't see anything specifically pertaining to it in the Gazeteer or your earlier reply to me but I easily could have overlooked it.

Do they worship them, or just respect them, or perhaps even view them as competition to be hunted? Just trying to figure out what the general attitude would be, if there is one. Any help would be greatly appeciated. *smiles*

Naeron is the god of evil dragons and has dragons as a portfolio and as followers. Chosen of Parushan is a PrC that is very dragon-like, but that's a whole different story :)

From the revised guide, a bit of flavor that has not yet been edited thoroughly:

History and Relationships
Naeron is the creator of serpents and evil dragons, although he wields the power of death he is also a creator. In the early days of the world the creatures of Naeron brought war and death to all laying waste to entire peoples to feed the hunger for knowledge, as time passed and the power of Naeron grew he created many reptilian creatures to do his bidding. His love of destruction allowed Beher to gain power in his prison in the underworld and Beher exerted control to form his own plane.

Naeron saw the weakness in himself that had allowed this to occur and with this knowledge came wisdom, the insatiable hunger for knowledge and power was at last sated and Naeron grew less voracious in his need for death, setting aside destruction as a tool and embracing the view that as all things, even the gods, must eventually die he would allow each its allotted time upon the world before gathering their souls to him.

Naeron's only true relationship is that which is maintained against Trandim. He and Trandim are in a perpetual war which will only end when the threat of the Good Dragons is removed and Naeron's children once again rule the skies. Naeron has little to do with the other gods, he maintains his mastery of the Underworld and waits patiently to garner all the knowledge of the world.

I read that, but I didn't see anything specifically regarding his worshippers and their view of dragons. I DID see somthing hinting that the followers of Naeron were looking for a way to kill dragons, which is what brought up the whole question in my mind.

I've also seen plenty of times that the worshippers of a god often do not match the gods view entirely, and as such, I wasn't sure if Naeron had bothered to tell his followers that he created the chromatics, or if he just left them in the dark and let them kill eachother from time to time as a form of natural selection, or what have you. I'd prefer to know that for sure then to draw too many assumptions from the description of Naeron himself, about his worshippers.

I am adding some additional information at the moment but as a brief synopsis most people who know anything about dragons will be aware that Naeron created the Chromatic Dragons. But as with all of his creations they are free to choose their own path. Naeron has never had any problems with his children fighting and killing each other, as recently as 58AK there was a major conflict between the Lizardfolk and Troglodytes in the forests west of Paludosus and some of the more renowned Paludosans of history have included "Dragonslayer" among their titles.

Another factor is that over the centuries draconic "society" has changed with most dragons becoming evil and the reds, blacks and whites becoming chaotic. Dragons have become more individualistic and less cooperative, which is one of the reasons that you will no longer see a flight of Dragons such as appeared during the Age of the Gods.

Between the minority of Chromatic Dragons who still actively worship Naeron and the other worshippers of Naeron peaceful co-existence is possible and does occur but this is very much the exception to the rule and where it does happen it tends to be inside Paludosus where sufficent power can be exerted to ensure that everyone plays by the rules.

On other occasions dealings with Chromatic Dragons are based on the immediate need rather than any religious instructions - other than the one that if someone threatens you and yours you should defend yourself.
