ok so I am trying to make a story based off harry potter and I need help coming up with a name for the school of witchcraft and wizardry pls help!!!

No one speaks the name of the school because it isn't allowed, so over time the name has just been forgotten.

Yes, I'd add that even if OP is not trying to follow that particular convention of the books, an interesting name would evoke something of the school's history and even its English name would be a translation of the real name in the local language, so knowing where it is in the world would be important.

Depends on the feel you are going for. Something like Newtseye or Batwing have a magical flavor but sound like something more geared for kids/teens. Something like the Arcaneum mentioned above sounds more distinguished and grown up. Unless you call it the Arcaneum School of Sciences and everyone abbreviates it.

in English The Cailleach Academy of Witches

*Cailleach is the gaelic word for old veiled woman (hag) and specifically the Cailleach Bheur is the Winter Hag of Gaelic folklore, a primordial winter goddess, creator of mountains, and ancient shape-shifter. DnD has her has the Bheur hag
