New Acquisitions Inc. Podcast

Surprised not to see a thread on the new Acquisitions Inc Podcast on the WOTC site.

Very enjoyable episode, lots of interesting roleplaying and a nice example of how to incorporate something from a characters backstory into an adventure. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

I love these. They are a marketing coup.

Note that the warning about being an explicit podcast is demonstrated right away in the first one.

I'm also looking with interest at the couple few other collaboration products that WotC is working on with the PVP folks.

Agreed. I've been greatly enjoying these; most of the time I listen to several of them as I drive to our gaming sessions, and they always put me in a good mood.

I think Chris Perkins does a great job DM'ing, and demonstrates what most of us go through in a typical session (jokes and cracks about plotlines, npcs. etc.) and yet keeps the story moving.

What are these? I don't read PVP regularly so I must've missed it.

I know that from PA Gabe is doing the art for that Player's-guide thingie next summer and that the stickers he uses in his game for status effects are looking for some kind of release.

I really like these. It gives the chance to a DM to become comfortable with some different playstyles before I encounter them, see how another DM might describe things and handle maintaining momentum in all the jokes. I think for players (especially first time players) they're mroe easily able to "hear" how it's played and mimmic it a bit.

I remember picking up the PHB and DMG 2e, reading through, and trying to figure out exactly how it felt while playing... this would've helped our first few sessions be lest awkward.

These are what I'm talking about, but I think someone said somewhere that more was planned, no idea what.

Actually I just remembered one thing. Something about further comics of Jim Darkmagic. Maybe it was just speculation.

Oh, and if anybody at WotC Dragon is listening and it isn't in the works, a serialized adventure comic of Jim Darkmagic would be very cool.

penny arcade posted the first page of 3 ideas they had for serialized comic series. Jim Darkmagic was one of them, but generally was outshined in one page by the other two. Ultimately they chose to do one and let a guest artist do the other, leaving Jim Darkmagic to be a single page of story.

I thought it went a little further... ah well. I voted for Jim!
