New Campaign

the Jester

Legend
Well, I'm very excited- last night we played the second to last game of my epic campaign- all that's left is tying up loose ends and wrapping things up. Our next session, we'll finish up and then do character creation for the new (4th edition) campaign we'll be starting.

I'm very excited- this will be the first time a new edition has come out and I have had a complete group already together to play it with. When 3rd edition came out, I had just returned from a west coast hitchhiking adventure/overseas travel combo that lasted a good chunk of a year, so I assembled a new group consisting largely of old players, but with some new ones as well. Likewise, 2nd edition came out right after I graduated from high school. Our 2e group was me and a bunch of my college buddies, eventually expanding to include other people (one of whom went to high school with me).

I plan on advancing the timeline of my campaign by an indeterminate time- a couple of thousand years, I suspect, and maybe even more. I want to make it so that I do not feel any ties to "current conditions" in the campaign at all.

I plan to start the campaign as the humanoid hordes are overrunning the civilized empire. The pcs will start in a fairly large city. Some of them will prolly be in a military unit. The first few days of the game, fewer and fewer of the members of the unit show up to muster, until the pcs are the only ones. Meanwhile the people are fleeing the city, and the hordes are getting closer... The imperial army is broken and routed, the capitol is taken and the emperor and empress have been put to the sword. Civilization is being shattered RIGHT NOW.

My players agree that it sounds like a fun campaign start. :)

It absolutely does!

Can't wait to see what you're going to be doing with it, and to read the story hour! If nothing else, I want to know what your players are coming to come up with, character-wise.

All I know so far is that omrob has called the dwarven cook.
