New Dungeon 152 Adventure - The Last Breaths of Ashenport

I too hate the color borders. I hope you all are pointing out how stupid that is on the GLEEEEEEMAX forums also. They do realize WE now need to print this, and not them, right? The adventure itself is pretty good stuff, just the kind of stuff I like and well written. It still baffles me we can't get actual tactical maps, but I'm SURE it will be there when we have to pay for it.

It's Jason Bulmahn, not James. He's used to folks spelling his last name wrong, but I'm not sure he could take the strain of having his first name changed... ;)
I really butchered that for sure. My apologies JASON. :) I did get it right in my idyllic mind, though.

We don't "need" to print it, but I agree it'd be nice if they had a more printer-friendly format for those who want to do that. I actually prefer having a PDF for quick searches & bookmarking.

Removing the borders should help that too no? It is a graphic in PDF format no? (I seriously don't know. If so, eliminating that graphic on 40+ pages would be a good thing right?)

Yeah, no small village there... nope... wouldn't fit in a poins of light campaign setting at all.

And it is definately in need of heroes. ;)

Oh, well, yeah, Ashenport is a small, isolated village, but
the villagers are definitely not in need of heroes
.

I got a chance to read this adventure this weekend and I loved it, in particular, all the monsters, especially the
Wrath of Dagon
.

Add my vote for hating the borders. I'll probably never print it, but, I'd like to someday. With the borders, I'm never going to bother. Waste of ink.

Why not bundle the two together? Here's the print version - sans art and borders - which will save you ink and here's the online version for reading. Would take about 30 seconds to create in Adobe. Very hard to change on our end though.

And, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, stop putting things in two column format. It's VERY hard to read on a computer. Put the friggin thing in landscape so it fits people's monitors.

Ditto on ALL of this.

Please WOTC, the PDF is not necessarily a print medium. If you have two versions, one for printing in portrait and two column, that's fine. But the screen-mode PDF should really be in landscape. Even if you do two column on that it's OK, but we can show the full PDF and read much more at one time in landscape.

Great adventure with a solid hook, easy to add to an existing game, and a very well done atmosphere.

*possible spoilers*

I've run about 1/2 of this adventure so far, just getting through the first Call. I have to say, my players seemed to really enjoy it, especially when you consider that they haven't yet had any combat (normally a big no-no for them).

One thing I'm trying to figure out is what to replace the GIbbering Mouther with near the end...using Fantasy Grounds there are just too many conditions to track between the swallow whole, free-action spittle, gibbering, and ground manipulation. Any suggestions? I'm thinking an ooze with the pseudonatural template would work.

How long can the steak last? He's had an adventure in both "issues" of the online Dungeon. Will he be in number 3?

Heh. Afraid not. ;)

Those are the only two adventures that I currently had in the pipeline. I'm working on other stuff as we speak, for print and digital both, but none of it's due out in the immediate future.
