New to Paragon tier-Assassin power

One of my players chose the assassin as the paragon path and his power that deals damage on a miss seems quite powerful. Has anyone dealt with this or has the rules changed on this. Am I missing something.

Granted, the player is straight up power gamer and his new assassin is a 29 ac so he was missed by all the minions he ran past, killing them and the zombies missed him more than half the time and almost killed themselves.

I don't want to nerf his power unless there is an eratta I missed or the rules are not interperted right, such as if the power is an interupt power and only once per turn. I'll admit that I have not looked up the path yet, maybe stupid me, huh.

Shadow Assassin’s Riposte (11th level): Any adjacent enemy that misses you with a melee attack takes damage equal to your Dexterity modifier.

I assume? From Shadow Assassin PP? It isn't a power, it is a feature. It isn't really the best PP, but that is really clever. I assume has is an Artful Dodger and he was adding his cha mod to his AC from OAs (otherwise that AC would be pretty high).

I'd probably give a player bonus XP for risking his neck to be a minion sweeper, tbh. And after the first minion dies, no reason for the others to take the OAs, they saw what happened. Gang up on someone else in the party.

I lied, an Artful Dodger's AC vs OAs could actually be quite a bit higher then that if he optimized it (I got 32 with some quick fiddling and assuming level appropriate gear). So yeah, unless you have more details it seems the player is on the up and up.

I'd suggest attacking his Fort.

Enemies aren't obligated to take OA's. If you're fighting anything with a brain (i.e., "Not Undead"), the rest of the enemies should stop taking OA's as soon as they see the first one die. And if you are fighting undead...well, it's a darn good ability, then, but plenty of classes get bonuses against undead.

AC 29 vs opportunity attacks seems nearly trivial for an artful dodger at level 11. Can get up to 32-33 or so depending on gear, without trying too hard.

As suggested, the solution is to simply not take the opportunity attack. It's sort of like sticking your hand into a wood chipper. Even zombies may realize it's not in their best interest to do so. This gives the rogue some free mobility, but that's all right. They're supposed to be mobile.

Or....take approach that minions live for the sole purpose of exalting PCs into awesomehood, in which case they did there job admirably, and there legend will never die.
