Okay, I will check it out but don't have much hope that the show will be any good based on the trailers I have seen, the plot looks stupid!

I will watch it as I try to give support to anything remotely science fiction. But I have zero expectations that it will not suck.

Can you say The Postman.

Not too bad, at least better than I thought but what about steam and why would a combustion engine using diesel ignition process not work?

Maybe worth a few more watches.

Gun powder works, and something burns to light those candles, the still worked... but no steam engine? It was a head scratcher

I was underwhelmed last night. Not horrible, but "meh"

It was kind of predictable and I wasn't impressed by the young woman in the lead role... she was cute, but I was not impressed by her acting ability.

Maybe it will grow on me.

Definitely saw the influence of The Postman. Definitely a little Emberverse in there, too.

Not sure what I thought of it - right now I'm feeling awfully "meh". The lead actress just doesn't seem to have the screen presence to keep me caring about her and her troubles. Everyone is a caricature of a real person. I'm guessing there's going to be a lot of handwaving and "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!" going on. If it works as a genre gateway, then I'm all for it, but it's going to have to work really hard to keep me interested.

My feelings exactly.

Seems clear that the blackout was something like a global EMP, but what I gathered even from the promotional stuff is it's something different since the USB widget seems to have the ability to restore power, supply power, whatever. It's some other science-fantasy-ish effect that was perpetrated and the magic dingus maguffin can fix it or at least get around it.

As far as the pilot being "meh" that is not at all surprising to me. The pilot is almost always a write-off on something like this because you have to set up the "game world", introduce a LOT of characters, have them all meet in a bar...

OMG, they did EXACTLY that, didn't they...

Look at Star Trek: TNG for an example. People forget that it wasn't until the 3rd Season that it really got rolling. Once it did I think most would agree that it was quite well done stuff, but a lot of the early episodes were quite... weak, thin, not compelling. YMMV, but I say give it at least a FEW episodes to see where it goes.

Yeah, I'm in the "I'll give it a while to see if gets better" camp myself. I think I gave "Terra Nova" four or five episodes before bailing on it; I'll do the same with "Revolution" before deciding whether it's worth sticking with.

And I'll see your "The Postman" and raise you a "Harsh Realm." (Anybody remember that one? I think it lasted all of 6 or 8 episodes.)

I'll say this, though: I was already hooked on "Lost" after just the pilot episode. Whether you liked that show, or the twists and turns it took along the way, it at least had some very interesting characters to make you want to keep watching.

So far, "Revolution" does not have that advantage.
