Non-Clerics Turning Undead

2o-Eyed Foe

First Post
One of my players brought to my attention the fact there exists a feat that grants Non-Cleric types the ability to turn/rebuke undead. He couldn't remember which book or source that this feat came from. Does anyone out there know where it can be found?

Thanks,

As far as I know, there is no feat that duplicates a specific class ability for ANY class at all. If there is, it isn't balanced, and you shouldn't allow it. For example, if you could gain the ability to Turn Undead, or a feat that gave you Sneak Attack, or the ability to Rage, or increased the damage of your Fists, what would be the point of taking levels of another class?

In short, if such a feat exists, it's unbalanced. Unless the prerequisites include taking a level of Cleric, you shouldn't allow a feat to give someone Turning.

Agreed. Still interested in reading through it, though.

If turning wasn't so worthless, I'd agree... :)

The only times I've seen turning used was with the divine feats from Complete Warrior...

It's likely the Divine Channeler feat from Dragon #305.

It requires the user to have a patron deity and the God Touched feat from the same article (it's similar to a few feats in the BoVD and BoED). The character can turn undead once per day, as a cleric of 1/2 character level.

In fact, there is a feat that emulates SA, one d6 at a time. But it can only be taken a certain number of times, and it's not available to everyone (It's a Scorpion Technique Feat from Rokugan).

It is also in Unearthed Arcana in the generic classes section, but then pretty much all class abilities are turned into feats there: that is kinda the point of that section, and off course they should not be used in a standard game.

That's for the Generic Classes- a normal PC couldn't take those feats, because they are in place of class abilities.
