Our group is seeking new players to join us as we start a new campaign in the New Year. We will be using the Dungeons and Dragons Fourth Edition rules set tailored to a home-spun setting. As it will be the start of a new campaign, now is a great time to jump in.
Expert knowledge of the rules is not required. We are willing and capable to help a new player learn the game, as long as the player is willing to learn as the game progresses.
This will be an ongoing campaign, so an ability to make it to regular sessions is preferable. We try to meet weekly, on Sunday afternoons from around 1pm until 7pm, with some flexibility for player schedules. And generally the game is hosted in Arlington VA (near Courthouse metro station).
Our sessions tend to be slightly more role-play than combat, about a 60-40 split, with a strong focus on story. We will be playing in a home-made high fantasy sword-sorcery world that will unfold as the campaign progresses.
This is a social game. While we do try and stay somewhat focused, there are the occasional jokes and references and other asides tossed about. At the same time, we are not so casual that idly surfing the net during the session is deemed acceptable.
