Now my wizard can have a battle familiar.

The article on Familiar Power has an at-will utility power allowing your familiar to flit about the fight (using your move action) acting as another flanking body and if a flanked enemy is hit by an attack they cannot shift on the following turn... that pretty much fits exactly what I picture my battle familiar doing....

I had such a familiar in a vivid dream once during a fight he kept my enemies off balance and out of sorts. ... quite cool.

There are some pretty cool things in that article. I like the ritual to make your familiar a Mount. The last familiar I had was a Book Imp that used illusion magic to look like me. So I would be a Gnome, riding around on the shoulders of a Large version of myself. Pretty awesome. Add to that the fact that Imps can go invisible at-will, and you've got yourself a cool illusion you can pull off. That ritual would be fun for like, the disembodied hands or gelatinous cubes. Or dragonlings. Most of them, really.
