Of all the rpgs you own and like, which is the least likely to be played in 2027?

It seems to me that you don't really like either one of those games. Which is okay, especially if we're talking about that d20 WoT game.
Oh yea... supposed to be something I like.

Gangbusters and Top Secret then. Loved those games, but just don't seeing getting back to playing either of them in the next few years. Maybe ever. Are the systems even decent by modern standards? Though maybe I should make an FG ruleset for one and then...

Could also add Star Frontiers, but since I'm running a FrontierSpace game, seems like that's close enough to count :)

Of all the rpgs you own and like, which is the least likely to be played in 2027? Explain why if you have time.

Of all the rpgs I own, D&D 5e is the least likely to be played in 2027.

There are 5 main reasons for that:
•Most of the groups with whom I play have moved to other systems.
•I've been surprised to find that new prospective players find other games easier to pick up.
•Virtually all of my recent (since about 2023-2024) purchases have been other systems (DCC, Shadowdark, OSRIC, GURPS, etc).
•WotC's vision for their game continues to diverge from my ideal experience.
•Q4 2026 and Q1 2027 are when I expect some of the Backerkit and Kickstarter products I've backed to be delivered; none are D&D products.

Is Gangbusters even available for purchase these days? I tried looking it up on DriveThru RPG, but I only see a new, updated version produced by someone other than WotC. I don't know anyone who even owned that game. We played a bit of Top Secret back in the day though. That was a pretty good game.

Not that I know of. But I've got (or should!) have the boxes for both in the garage.

This very much feels like a game you "don't like"....

Super interested in Star Frontiers.

The other game I own and think I would like a ton is Star Wars West End Games. Have owned it since 1996 and have yet to play it

I've enjoyed a lot of D&D.
Currently, for the reasons mentioned, it is the least likely game that I own to be played in 2027.

I'm also comfortable admitting to myself that I haven't been the target audience for the company that makes D&D for a while. I don't expect that to change in 2027.

I could be bitter about a game not being what I want or I could enjoy enjoy games that are providing what I want. I prefer the latter.

Super interested in Star Frontiers.
There is a small but pretty active community around. Fan zines occasionally get published, several online games I know of that are being run. As said, I did a ruleset of FrontierSpace by DWD for FGVTT. It's pretty much a spiritual successor. DM me if you want links or more info.
