Michael Moorcock's Elric of Melniboné is getting an official tabletop roleplaying game courtesy of Goodman Games. The game will be powered both by the D&D 5E game engine, as well as Goodman's in-house Dungeon Crawl Classics.

A whole line of products is planned, under the banner The Classic Era of Elric, and will be crowdfunded in 2027.

Elric of Melniboné is a classic sword and sorcery character dating back to the 1960s, featuring in a series of stories by Michael Moorcock. The titular character, a summoner, is physically weak and maintains his health using special herbs until he acquires Stormbringer, a magical sword which grnats him physical prowess, but which must feed on the souls of living beings.

I think everyone must have forgotten about Dragonlords of Melnibone.
Not everyone. I still have mine. Even though I have a bunch of Chaosium BRP Elric! stuff and Mongoose's later Runequest stuff I generally prefer various D&D editions with ascending hit points as a system so I was quite excited when there was a straight d20 version. :)

There is also the Melnibonean Mythos in OD&D Supplement IV Gods, Demi-Gods, and Heroes (but not the later WotC premium reprint) and in the earliest printings of 1e AD&D Deities & Demigods (but again not in the later printings or the PDFs).

I haven't seen the OD&D one but the 1e stuff was pretty cool.

Ed Greenwood used a bunch of Melnibonean deities straight in the original Forgotten Realms including all the elemental lords before TSR came up with their own, and a bunch of the Animal Lords.

I have played in AD&D games using the Melnibonean stuff and used it in my games throughout various editions.

The Clamshell sets from Goodman Games have all been extremely well done, with each one improving as the company gets better at the concept.

Whiterock just wrapped up on Backer with an impressive offering.

By the time 2027 and the Elric campaign rolls around, I believe that GG will offer something truly worthy of the source material.
