Madness! There wasn't even enough material for the 3 hours of the first film.

Hopefully it will all be a flop.

I think you guys are being way to critical. I heard the movies will move on from saving the noble savage. The movies will go into telling the story about how the big blue people are moved from their land to land for them by the new government started on the planet. There will be long traveling sequences. They will show the blue people shedding tears as they are forced to move from one place to the other. Some of the blue people will de from a genetically modified disease called 'blanket." The fourth movie will end with the blue people owning casinos and being the center of space gambling.

Total Lifetime Grosses -- Domestic: $760,507,625 (27.3%) + Foreign: $2,021,767,547 (72.7%) = Worldwide: $2,782,275,172

When you have the top two moves of all time and that are twice as much as the third movie on the list, you can do as you like.

I'm thinking someone in Hollywood seriously misread the reason Avatar had the revenue it did. The novelty value of the spectacle is lightning that isn't likely to strike twice.

Although, since the first movie was a sci-fi spectacle remake of Dances With Wolves, are they going to mine other Kevin Costner movies for the rest of the Avatar movies? I might possibly see a sci-fi spectacle re-imagining of Field of Dreams with tall blue people. Or The Untouchables.

They better not touch The Postman, or Waterworld, though.
