(OOC) Planescape: Intrigue - RERECRUITING

@Nordom

I’m pretty sure @doghead targeted Sky with guidance. It’s touch, after all.

Also, my impression through your description is Severin is much stronger than Orris. If it’s okay, I’d imagined it more that Orris was aiding him. I can still roll but Orris strength is 10 so I’d like to use whoever has the higher strength to lead the roll.

What are people’s thoughts? I have an idea for Orris. Not sure what advantage we might get and it could take more time.

I'll leave it up to the other two to decide. Orris wants to leave her behind, although, I'm not sure we can convince Severin. I'm fine with whatever people decide.

Ah. I didn't pick up on Orris's reluctance to bring Mara when I read through the IC. That said, Sky wasn't there, and all he heard was Severin offering to carry Mara.

I think Sky would have voted to bring her anyway.

You know, the title Regent seemed off to me and so I had to look up the definition to make sure I was using it properly. It seems that I'm not. Technically, Orris is acting in his Master's interests on his behalf...but not in his stead.... A regent acts as a substitute ruler but that's not really Orris' role. Is there a better title? We can chalk up the IC post as a misstep/inconsistency or exaggeration on Orris' part.

I'm not sure the appropriate title. He's kind of a Knight but he's more than that. I found the word Plenipotentiary which is a fun word I didn't know!

@Nordom You obviously put a lot of effort into your IC posts, and I wanted to say that I am really enjoying them, and the game.

I think that your handling of the NPCs is pretty deft; they are significant to the story, but no Mary Sue NPC's.

Finally, I like the way you are keeping the game moving along and only zooming in on the scenes where they matter. Or perhaps more accurately, scenes in which there is the opportunity for a reveal through play. The scene with the doctor was one. As was the scene in the busted house. But in the scene at the barricade, what was revealed was achieved through the description; the deteriorating state of the city, the fact that someone is still working to impose order and that the Hounds seem competent enough to be treated with caution. Which you did, keeping the rolls etc to a minimum, and the game moving forwards.

As a DM, I struggle with this. So it is helpful to experience what it looks like when well done.

I would like to echo this sentiment.

Thank you both, I really appreciate that. It’s especially gratifying to hear that the pacing and NPCs are working well, since those are two things I’ve been consciously trying to balance.

I’m having a great time running this, and a lot of that comes down to how thoughtfully you all engage with the world and each other. Looking forward to seeing where things go!
