Just found out that my wife and I are expecting our first baby in February of 2003. Horns of mead and turkey drumsticks for everyone.

(1) Sodalis - Still too early for boy/girl detection. If family averages hold true, it will probably be a boy, but as long as there are 10 fingers, 10 toes and all the other components are good-to-go!

Congratulations to your wife. I assume you didn't do anything you weren't inclined to do already.

As an older father (compared to you, however, a mere stripling at 35) I can assure you that you will find this one of the richest and most exhausting experiences of your life. I would like to think that I'm a bit more emotionally stable than I was at 25, and that that helps my parenting.

I wish all the best for your Young One (and that includes just the right amount of heartache and challenge to build a strong and deep person). Enjoy every day--they pass much too fast.

Now it is my turn to congratulate you and your lovely wife Old One! My wife and I also found out we were expecting shortly after our return home from vacation last year -- I guess you could say that a little time away from the daily grind is very good for the soul...and other parts too !!
