Old One

First Post
Greetings All!

Looks like that vacation to Aruba was quite (re)productive!

Just found out that my wife and I are expecting our first baby in February of 2003. Horns of mead and turkey drumsticks for everyone.

Life is filled with moments of sorrow and moments of joy. Be aware of the happy times, live through the others.

Just think of how many of each your child will bring you Old One. Congrats!

Congrats! It's tons of fun to bring a Young One into the fold, let me tell you!

Here's hoping you still have time and energy to keep a D&D campaign running...

And lo, the Rat Bastard DM will be laid low by a child in swaddling clothes. His scheming will be interrupted by squalling. His maps will be vomited upon. His dice will be consumed.

Yea, even his vaunted familiar- The Table of Elemental Evil- will be reduced to a mere changing station, shrouded in a layer of half-digested formula.

Thus speaks the sorcerer, Quintus, whose experience, both in RL and Faded Glory, ensures the truth of these predictions.

Congrats buddy,
Corey

BTW- will trade advice for xp or denarri.

Thanks for the Thoughts...

Greetings All!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts so far...

(1) Sodalis - Still too early for boy/girl detection. If family averages hold true, it will probably be a boy, but as long as there are 10 fingers, 10 toes and all the other components are good-to-go:D!

(2) Mark - Thanks! I will definitely have to lock "Young One" soon;)!

(3) Lela - Thanks, my friend! I am definitely looking at this as a joyful one!

(4) Joshua - Since 40 is just around the corner...I need all the energy drinks I can get:D!

(5) Nemm - Thanks...now if I could just get my wife to play;)!

(6) Corey - What?!? Trying to bribe the DM?

Congrats!

Congratulations to your wife. I assume you didn't do anything you weren't inclined to do already.

As an older father (compared to you, however, a mere stripling at 35) I can assure you that you will find this one of the richest and most exhausting experiences of your life. I would like to think that I'm a bit more emotionally stable than I was at 25, and that that helps my parenting.

I wish all the best for your Young One (and that includes just the right amount of heartache and challenge to build a strong and deep person). Enjoy every day--they pass much too fast.

Now it is my turn to congratulate you and your lovely wife Old One! My wife and I also found out we were expecting shortly after our return home from vacation last year -- I guess you could say that a little time away from the daily grind is very good for the soul...and other parts too ;)!!

Keep us posted on developments as they occur. Best of luck and health to your family. Cheers to the Old One, the Lady One, and baby One on the way!!
