Other Uses for Alternate Source Spell

I will be playing in a Pathfinder game where the DM might allow my PC to use the Alternate Source Spell feat in order to qualify early for Mystic Theurge. I wanted to be higher level as a Wizard than a Cleric, hence, the reason to not take Precocious Spellcaster.

Alternate Source Spell [Metamagic]
You can prepare any of your spells as either divine or arcane.
Prerequisite: Ability to cast both divine and arcane spells.
Benefit: You can choose to prepare any of your divine spells as arcane spells or any of your arcane spells as divine spells. An alternative-sourced spell uses up a spell slot from the class that normally grants the spell. such a spell is prepared normally. An alternative-sourced spell is cast as if your caster level were 1 level lower. For example, a 1st level cleric/6th level wizard casts a divine fireball as a 5th level wizard.

I haven't played 3.5 in nearly two years, so I cannot remember a lot of it.

Can anyone think of a use for this feat other than to qualify? Are there foes that take more damage from divine sources than arcane ones, or vice versa? What would be a good reason to create a Divine Fireball or an Arcane Magic Stone?

Thanks.

I could also see using it to get around arcane spell failure. A Wizard N/Cleric 1 could wear heavy armor and a heavy shield and only take the -1 caster level penalty, rather than needing to use a higher level slot with Still Spell.

It is also unclear what stat you use for the save DC. If you use wisdom for any divine spell, you could create a Mystic Theurge with the stat array more like a single classed caster, with one stat maxed out and other stats at moderate levels. You still would not have the best possible save DC's, since you are missing the highest level spells, but at least you can focus on getting one stat high rather than two.
