Wow, what a fantastic demon lord! I just read the interview with Steve Townsend regarding this demon lord and I think this is a fantastic design!

I particularly like the idea of starting a campaign in the Abyss, in a PoL setting where at the end of the Heroic Tier the PCs discover that they are living in - and have always lived in - the Abyss! What a fantastic story twist!
The Heroic tier can be filled with all kinds of subtle indications that things are not what they seem and as the players slowly expose more and more fallacies it ends with the shocking reveal that they are in the Abyss.
The Paragon Tier can proceed with the PCs trying to escape the Barrens (the layer that Oublivae controls), and thereby thwarting Oublivae's will and come in direct opposition with her. The idea gives me the old Ravenloft feel of being hunted and the PCs have to continually hide from the demon lord and her forces while slowly building up the small successes, learning about the land, what they can do to escape and so forth. At the end of the tier they escape Oublivae's clutches, but only they themselves have gotten out. What about friends, families and loved ones? What about the town itself?
The Epic Tier proceeds with the PCs building alliances to battle Oublivae on a larger scale - no god or devil or angel can provide aid in the Abyss, only other demon lords who relish the idea of adding to their power. Tricky negotiations, alliance building and future promises are all part of the play as they seek aid from other demon lords (Grazzt perhaps?). In the end, can the PCs defeat Oublivae and will they be double crossed by their allies? What is the ultimate fate of their town?
What a fantastic campaign that could be! I really am looking forward to the Demonimicon now! Wow!!! Yay Steve for your creation!
