Friday May 22, got in after work.
  • All the Smiths were busy, so did machine pec flies for chest. 100x20, 120x15, 120x10 +100x5
  • Rear delt flies: 90x20, 90x18, 90x16 (+4 reps, +2 reps, +1 rep). Pushing these maybe a little harder.
  • Machine biceps curls 80x22, 80x16 +70x5, 70x20. (+5lbs, +1 rep, drop down to 70 +reps). Felt pretty good.
Still not back to three times a week, but I'm staying decently active, my food and sleep I think are getting a little better. At least the sleep, which is key.
Wednesday May 27:
  • Smith inclined barbell bench 105x14 +100x4, 100x9 +95x3, 105x6 +100x2 +95x1, 95x9. Pretty steady.
  • Machine biceps curls 80x22, 80x14 +70x6, 70x21. Also pretty steady.
  • Machine seated row 110x15, 110x15, 110x15. Have been neglecting back lately but this felt pretty good.
  • Machine rear delt flies 90x15, 90x15. Big struggle after the rows.
Monday June 1:
  • Smith inclined barbell bench 95x16 (accidentally left off a 10lb plate) +100x4, 105x9 +100x2, 105x7 +100x3 +95x2, 95x8. Pretty steady.
  • Machine biceps curls 80x24, 80x17 +70x4, 70x22. Slight improvement.
  • Machine rear delt flies 90x20, 90x16, 90x15. Still a little worse than the 22nd, but better than the 27th.
Mom's cancer surgery went well Thursday, and the memorial service I was helping officiate on Saturday. Still running two campaigns and doing more paper reading lately. Sleep and food have been ok but I still have this nagging cough which I suspect is related to allergies. Struggling a bit to be regular with the gym, but still trying.

176.6, legs pretty sore, neck feeling better. Slept ok relative to the last week or 2 of poor sleep but its not going to be great for a few months.

House stuff, legal stuff (not bad), and...prep for heading out of town I guess is the order of the next 2 days, then a big Friday workout before the wife and I get out of town for most of next week. I had not actually thought of that, I'll be missing several workouts next week...lame.
 

Wednesday June 3:
  • Machine triceps push-down 117.5x35, 120x32, 125x29. Significantly better than last time I did this, but I'm not stacking it with a chest press, so the tris aren't pre-fatigued.
  • Machine seated row 115x15, 115x15, 115x15. Added 5lbs from May 27, last time I did this.
  • Machine shoulder press 50x14, 50x11 +40x3, 50x11 +40x3. Similar to where this was when I last did it.
Not bad. Planning to tonight after work, which would make my first three session week in a while. Feeling pretty good, though I should probably still be sleeping longer.
 

Missed my weigh in today, but was trending toward 177.

Upper was good, everything felt good but the gym was busy so some things were out of order. Bench in the later half of the work out certainly feels different than first thing, but I didnt feel weaker, I just got a 2 less reps (5). I was already into the pump so felt pretty different under the weight, like when I was heavier so that was interesting, maybe I'll reorder stuff.

Only thing I didnt get to was my core, I added a few exercises as I mentioned, but honestly it felt like I was just getting more inflated, I was too tired so I dont know.

I'll weigh in tomorrow morning, prep for the trip, and depending on how packing/cleaning goes, maybe hobby stuff? I doubt I'll get legs in, but we will see.

Yeah 177.2, slept decent but didnt go to bed on time. Overcast and cooler, so not sweating through the night helps.

Trying to do some formatting for my project and the house wakes up, would like to do legs but honestly they feel a bit tight this morning lol

Switched to barbell rather than smith bench press today. I erred on the side of caution and opened my “heavy” set (4-6 reps) at 245 and it felt light.

The 60s for DB shoulder press felt very light today, so I suspect I was using more shoulders in the smith bench than I should have. Overall, I felt pretty good today!
