I did get Legs done yesterday, but it was shortened as there were a bunch of us doing Legs. I was still feeling the effects of that total body inflammation thing from a few days ago, so that sucks, but I did get Leg Press done, and thats the big one.

Today I'm going to look at some property, Friday, we try Upper, my shoulder is still not super happy, especially first thing in the morning.

And, as one can see with the near daily weight increase, I need to get some discipline back in my diet.

Wednesday, July 8:
  • Smith inclined barbell bench 120x7 +110x4 +100x5, 120x5 +110x3 +100x2, 120x4 +110x2 +100x2, 100x8. Lost a rep on 1, 2 reps on 2, and 2 reps on 3. Then got 2 more on set 4. This may be a question of rest. I may be better off with longer than 2 days' break between these.
  • Right (harder) machine triceps pressdowns 120x25, 130x18, 130x14 +120x3. Better than last time on this machine. Which is interesting given that I stacked it with the bench press. I was avoiding that before, but the gym has been busier and machine choice has been a bit more forced. :/
  • Seated machine leg press 260x15, 300x12, 300x12. This felt pretty good. I've been neglecting legs a bit in part due to workout timing. It used to be easy for me to muster the energy and motivation for legs on Sunday mornings, but it's harder after work during the week. I haven't been getting in many weekend sessions lately. I've also had issues with my old faithful inverted leg press putting bad pressure on my lower back (not sure if it's a problem with my form or just the inferior Matrix machines at Planet Fitness compared to the Hammer Strength at my old gym). I think I need to just make more of an effort to do these machine ones or hack squats, and stop skipping "leg day".
I should try to re-systematize/schedule exactly what exercises I'm doing on what days, but the busy gym has made that harder. Maybe I should re-invest in a more expensive one with more equipment and/or fewer teenagers.

We got there, but the juice wasn't available today as I was late and coming from meetings.

Cut the last 4 exercises but I'm OK with it, shoulder needed a rest.

Reno work tomorrow and a walk if it's sunny?

It was not sunny, and it was a heavy rain by the time I was free, so no walk.

181.8 (yikes) this morning.

I have respiratory issues, not like asthma but inflammation in my body is a real thing, and its across the board, sinus, lungs, joints, I dont know what it naughty word is, but its getting worse as I age for sure.

So I ripped out about 60% of the remaining carpet in my place today, and jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus, I will never have carpet again in any house I live in, ever.

I feel like you need a Reno thread exclusively because man, you sound like you got stories to tell. 😆

Friday 7/10:
  • Dumbbell bench 50x11 +40x7 +20 shrugs, 50x8 +40x5 +shrugs, 50x8 +40x3 +35x3 +25 shrugs (still with 40s).
  • Machine biceps curls 90x23, 90x12 +80x5, 80x19
  • Machine seated row 130x18, 140x16, 140x16
  • Machine overhead shoulder press 50x13, 50x9 +40x4,50x9 +40x4
This was a pretty nice session. Still having to adjust on the fly due to machine availability, but it felt good. Still feeling some quad soreness from the leg press the other day, which is nice too.

Good on you for recognizing that and adjusting, instead of being stubborn and hurting yourself.

179.2

Did a decent walk in the heat yesterday, and dinner was light.

Upper today, I'm going to decrease weight on pulldowns, and rows to take some stress off my elbows, but try and add back reverse fly. I think I may have tightened up my chest/front delt, and thats contributing to my inflammation, so need to balance that out.

Upper was good. I've absolute increased the size of my chest and shoulders the last couple months, so I'm probably shifting things in a bit causing this joint distress. I do not believe I tore anything this time, but that whole area from lat to neck, sure is tight.

I did decrease weight on a few things, and found I cannot do my side delt right now, so....lame.

I'm thinking, counter intuitive perhaps, that I work legs tomorrow, and then arms/shoulders/back, to delay chest development lol

Then I finish tearing up carpet and such later this week.

Onward!
