Our Physical Fitness

I am increasingly convinced that I have some form of tendonitis on my left arm- possibly Golfer's Elbow or Tennis Elbow, and I likely need to rest it, possibly for several weeks, which is very frustrating. I'm going to keep digging into PT exercises and figure out out to recuperate it, hopefully while still hitting other exercises as normal.

I hate tendon issues. Had it in my elbows for a long time. I struggled for so long with my elbows. Compression sleeves helped and one day I forgot them and decided to just lift and it never came back.

I wish I knew how.

Skipped the gym entirely last night because I had to deal with something else, but thankfully that conversation was productive. Won't have time between work and running a game this evening, so Friday hopefully back in and being careful with my left arm.

Shorting myself a bit on sleep lately reading a Dungeon Crawler Carl book in bed, since I finished this month's book club book relatively quickly. The book is fun but I gotta end my evenings earlier and just get a little more sleep.

Punishing.

Was a great one.

EDIT:

Hit the Upper body, weight was 183.2 this morning.

Bench - I'm up 10 lbs. Feels sad adding 5's to a side, but incremental gains are the way.
Pull Ups - 45 x 6, then 25 x 6, no rest.
Pull Downs - Up to 200.
Pec Deck - Up to 220.
Incline Bench - 2 Sets here as one is less inclined, the other is near shoulder press but not all the way. Both are up.
BoBR - Mondays is 195, Fridays if I've done a Wednesday, is 185.
Row - Up to 225, 2 plates till I have the stack.
Hammer Pulldown - This is the secret to my back improvement I think, 200.
Dumbbell Press - Still 95s, but since everything else is up, at this point of the workout that is still a way.

Then today I added the Delt Raise thing, and Cable Delt Raise thing, finishing with cable chest fly, and finally free weight pullups x 15.

Shoulders are telling me I wont be sleeping well!

183.2, slept OK since wife and I stayed up too late watching a movie lol.

Feeling like I worked out so thats good, this is the last 3 months before I hit the 2 year mark in lifting which is by far the longest I've been able to keep at it, I think I'm going to drop to 4 days a week.

Monday - Upper
Tuesday - Legs/Abs
Wed - Bicep/Back/Shoulders
Thursday - Rest
Friday - Upper
Sat/Sun - Rest

Then in Jan, start losing some weight, my goal is 185 by Jan 1, and then lose about 10 pounds over Q1 2027.

Friday night 10/2:
  • Smith inclined barbell bench 120x6 +110x5 +100x5, 120x6 +110x4 +100x3, 120x4 +110x4 +100x4, 100x9 +1
    Steady 1a, b, and c, steady 2a and 2b -1 2c, steady 3a +2 each 3b and 3c, +3 reps set 4
Still mostly holding ground, maybe a tiny progression/recovery. The bicep injury doesn't factor in much here.
  • Rear delt flies 100x21, 100x18, 100x15.
+1 rep each set. Hard and grindy. Still trying to build from that last weight increase.
  • Machine overhead shoulder press 55x12 +45x4, 55x6 +45x3, 55x8 +45x3
    -1 rep 1a steady 1b, -6 reps 2a steady 2b, -2 reps 3a steady 3b.
This one is sucking lately. I think this drop in performance is probably a combination of the bicep impinging a little, and my triceps being a bit pre-exhausted from doing bench first. Probably need to shift around the exercise order again to find the right mix while I'm taking this healing break for my biceps.
Food has been decent. Sleep I was running ragged last week but caught up a bit the last three nights.
