Okay, so my lone PC campaign may take a turn towards a direction where I need some economic advice.
My PC discovered a hidden island with a small enclave on it. It has a darkwood forest. She knows of another town, far away, which is run by a lumber consortium, based on Falcon's Hollow. She has her own ship.
If she starts taking Darkwood trees to the lumber consortium town, what will be the response of the lumber consortium? Will they regard it as a threat ("They're not using our trees! Get them!") or as an opportunity to charge for their services? If the latter, how much should they charge? What are those "refining" services?
At the enclave, how much should she pay to get the enclave to start cutting down their forest?
In short, if she wants to start a business cutting down trees on Island Darkwood, shipping them to Falcon's Hollow for refining, and then selling them on other islands, how much money should she make?
