Lesson learned: if the cap on your tire won't budge at all, just leave it alone and drive on the tire while it's a little low. I tried to use these tiny pliers to get it off. The entire valve came clean off the stem and shot across the parking lot. Car and tire are at the shop, and tomorrow will determine if I need new tires or if a new valve can be put on.

Outdoor malls of one stripe or another predated the indoor ones and seem to have out-survived them. Possibly because they lack certain sorts of overhead the indoor ones had.
At least around here, all the outdoor malls are discount outlets, and do not have the traditional “big box” anchors like a Macy’s or a Bloomington’s. We actually have one very successful and always busy mall but that’s closer into the city in a high foot traffic area.

Most of those seem to be out on the periphery of habitation in California; the open air ones are more like strip malls with delusions of grandier.

But yeah, even the outdoor malls that are successful are usually riding on location.

(Regarding the big box anchors--well, honestly, most of those are or already have failed out themselves).
