Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I think it's a little early to tell one way or the other how popular Harry Potter is going to be in the decades to come. Things can be very popular and then fall off a cliff, things can be relatively obscure and still be popular long after they're released. Who knows if it will pull a Li'l Abner or a Citizen Kane.

I just don’t think there's anything timeless in it. But you're right, only time will tell.

Unrelated to the above, and not even from this site: You can't, you say? My dude, that sounds like a personal failing to me.

Now that is weird to me. You can disagree with people (especially about how best to play elf games) without it leading to actual disdain or worse.

Again, people attach their identities to all kinds of things, and some of them can bear pretty heavily on interpersonal habits and expectations. If you think otherwise, dip into any thread that talks about proper authority distribution in games. And some is less direct, but just about things like acceptable tone and process.

We did buy a CD player for the living room a year ago. All our CDs are back on the shelves, instead of forgotten in a box, in the basement. Still have about 20 original 80s vinyls but no table to play them.
I have north of 5k CDs, plus over 100 cassettes and albums (each), and all the tech to play them…at home.

I have multiple backup component and portable CD players. I doubt- but haven’t tested- my portable cassette players are still functional, but it’s possible. I haven’t used my turntable in a while. My VCRs still work.
I did, however, get rid of my reel to reel a decade or so ago.

Folks got no idea what power steering does... but yeah trust me you want it. Unless you are looking for popeye arms.

Very briefly many years ago I had a car lose its power steering (a line leak), and let me tell you that made me appreciate even normal manual steering.

Apropos of nothing really

But I sometimes wonder if in 80-90 years we'll talk about JK Rowling the way people talk about HP Lovecraft now

"Oh, everyone was transphobic back then"
"No, but she was SUPER transphobic"
I wouldn’t be surprised if that were true.

I WOULD be surprised if I was actually around to see the answer. 😂
